Eighteen pieces of well calibrated, authentically spiced and hand-cut sausages, duly sunken in appropriately spicy sweet and sour pickle. Or royally pickled surface-ripened cheese with spicy seasoning, chilli pepper and black olives? Or perhaps one and a half kilos of juicy herrings, pickled in onion and excellent brine?
